FAQ (MilesPay app)

These FAQs apply to MilesPay app users.

How much does MilesPay cost?

MilesPay is free for the first month.

After that, it’s $10/month or $100/year.

No credit card required to start.

Can I download MilesPay from the Apple App Store or Google Play?

No. MilesPay is a web app and is not available in the Apple App Store or Google Play. You can install it directly on your phone by following the installation instructions here: https://www.mymilespay.com/install

What is the Settings menu for?

Open Account -> Settings. You can enter your truck number (optional) and switch between Light and Dark mode.

How do I create an expense?

Go to Expenses. The only required field (marked in red) is Amount. Enter the amount and click Add Expense. You can also optionally add a note, choose a category, and mark it as reimbursable.

How do I set up expense categories?

Go to Account -> Expense Categories. MilesPay includes 5 preset categories: Repair, Fuel, Toll, Legal, and Equipment. You can also create up to 2 custom categories if you need more detailed tracking. The Other category is always available and cannot be removed. Fuel and Toll show cost per mile. All other categories show total spending.

How do Rename and Archive work for custom categories?

In Account -> Expense Categories: If you rename a category and click Save Categories, all past records using that category will update to the new name. If you click Archive and then click Save Categories, the category will no longer be available when adding new expenses or paycheck deductions. Archived categories stay in your history, stay in CSV exports, and do not disappear from old records. If you want a new custom category: 1) Archive the old one. 2) Click Save Categories. 3) Open the category settings again. 4) Create a new custom category. Changes only apply after you click Save Categories.

What do preset categories mean?

Repair: truck or trailer repairs. Fuel: fuel purchases (cost per mile). Toll: highway tolls (cost per mile). Legal: insurance, registration, highway taxes, tickets. Equipment: truck or trailer payments. Other: default flexible category. Custom categories: anything you create.

How do I create a paycheck?

Go to Paycheck. Required fields (marked in red): Pay to you, Load pay, and Miles. Everything else is optional.

What is "Pay Period Ending"?

It is the last day you are being paid for. Example: if today is February 20, 2026 and your paycheck covers February 10 through February 15, the pay period ending date is February 15, 2026.

What are paycheck deductions?

If your company deducts Fuel, Toll, Repair, or Cash advance, enter them as paycheck deductions and assign categories when possible. If you skip a category, the record still works, but category-based spending stats may be less accurate.

How does cash advance work?

Cash advance increases profit calculation. Example: if you received a $2,000 paycheck and a $200 cash advance, total money received is $2,200. In Statistics, Paid to you shows paycheck only; cash advance is added separately in profit.

What does the Statistics page show?

It shows Profit, Profit per mile, Load pay per mile, Miles, Pay to you, Fuel per mile (if Fuel category is used), Toll per mile (if Toll category is used), and Repair total.

How do I export my Expenses to CSV?

Open Expenses, select a date range (30d, 90d, or Custom), and click Export. The CSV includes all expenses in that range. Category filters are not applied to export.

How do I export my Paychecks to CSV?

Open Paycheck, choose the date range, and click Export. The CSV includes all paychecks for that period regardless of filters.

What does "Reimbursable: Waiting" mean?

It means the expense should be paid back to you, but you have not received that money yet. Update the status once reimbursement arrives.

Why do some expenses say "From paycheck"?

Those expenses were created from paycheck deductions and are linked to that paycheck record.

How do I edit or delete a record?

Open the record from the history list, then use the edit window to update or delete it. If an expense was created from a paycheck deduction, deleting the entire paycheck will also remove all linked deductions. To remove only one deduction from a paycheck, use the red X next to that specific deduction inside the paycheck edit window.

How does offline mode work?

You can use MilesPay without internet to create new expenses and paychecks. Full history is unavailable until you are back online. New records sync automatically after reconnecting.

What happens if my free trial ends or my subscription expires?

Your data is never deleted. If your trial ends or your subscription expires, your data remains saved securely. When you subscribe again, you can continue exactly where you left off.

How do subscription cancellations and plan changes work?

If you cancel your subscription, your access will remain active until the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after that. If you switch from an Annual plan to a Monthly plan, the change will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not lose any remaining time. If you switch from a Monthly plan to an Annual plan, the Annual plan begins immediately and billing resets from that date. Because of this, any unused days from your Monthly plan will not carry over.

I created a record but do not see it on another device. Why?

Some devices delay background updates to save battery. Try refreshing the page, closing and reopening the app, or logging out and back in.

How do I close a screen or go back?

Most screens have a visible Close (X) button. If there is no close button, tap outside the content area to close it. You can also tap the MilesPay logo to return to the main screen.
